BUSINESS
SOCIAL EVENT: AN OXYMORON?
Gregg Fields, Miami Herald
"People dread business social events because
it is not business as usual and definitely not social,'' says Rebecca Black, a California etiquette consultant. "The rules,
so clear to us when we are in our cubicles, become a blur.''
Her advice: Never forget it's work, starting
with the outfit. "If the movie character Erin Brockovich would wear it, don't wear it to a business function,'' she advises
women.
NCGA
Rebecca was invited to present a couple of workshops for
The Northern California Golf Association's Golf Boot Camp. Here is an excerpt from a very well written article
by, Thomas Skernivitz who, among other things, writes for Golfdom.
..."That might rub Rebecca Black the
wrong way — if, of course, she had an unruly bone in her body. The etiquette specialist put on a two-part presentation
that had just about every attendee wondering if he or she wasn't third-generation Java Man."
